تاء مربوطة

Non-PRO Arabic to English Art/Literary Linguistics Names of letters
Greetings,

I mean by تاء مربوطة the name of the letter ة – please explain the exact meaning of the adjective مربوطة here, as I really don't understand – I think مربوطة means something like “fixed”, but I am unable to see the connection with, or relevance to, the name of the letter ة.

All the best,

Simon

"tied" taa

As far as I know, the مربوطة refers to the fact that it looks like a taa that's been tied into a loop (rabata = tie). Obviously, the taa marbuta is also similar to the letter taa in that it is often pronounced "taa" (when followed by short vowels ضمة، كسرة، فتحة or tanwin)

tied ta' (Ta' marbuta)

Many words in Arabic end in Ta' marbuta (Tied ta')ـة/ة. I know it looks like a ha' at the end of the word with two points above it, that's correct. It comes at the end of the word only. What makes it even more unique is that it has two pronunciation:

1- If you're going to complete speaking, you pronounce it as ta.

2- However, if you will take a break or that kind of thing, it is pronounced as ha.

=============================================
Taa marbuta is a letter comes in the end of the word ( never comes in the Middle or beginning of the word).
The ways of writing taa marbuta:
there is 2 ways to write taa marbuta one is spreated ( ة ) and the other one when it is connected to the letter before it ( ـة ).
