US equiv. rank required
Hi Folks,
As the above states, if anyone can help with the "nearest" rank in US terms, that would be fantastic. If the opinion is "leave as-is" then I'll do that.
The nearest I have come so far is either "Technical Sergeant" or "First Lieutenant" - but I have found nothing that combines the two (maybe unnecessary in any case). (The latter is because the gentleman in question is also an "Oberleutnant".)
Thanks in advance for any help.
Oh, and as far as context goes, the person in question is the author of an article I am translating - which is not, thankfully, chock-full of military terms.

His full title is Oberleutnant "Nemo Anonymous", luftfahrzeugtechnischer Offizier. Then comes his (Fighter Wing?) number, i.e. Jagdgruppe, plus an "S" suffix. The article itself - 99.9% technical but non-military - is about wireless communication for aircraft tow crews.
