Dear Colleagues, an outsourcer delivered the edited text. Could you, please, express your notion (if any). Thank you!
"Of course, it had a negative effect on the teaching quality. Today, scholarship and teaching are integrated in institutions of higher education, therefore, academic personnel are valued not only for their teaching capacities, but for their scholarship contributions."

Criticisms:
1. 'the teaching quality' is unnatural in English, as quality is an abstract noun. 'the quality of teaching' or 'the quality of instruction' (more formal) would be better.
2. 'their scholarship contributions' is poorly worded, because this could easily be misunderstood (and probably would be misunderstood) to mean financial contributions to a scholarship fund. Better alternatives are (e.g.) 'for their scholarly contributions', 'for their scholarship', or 'for their scholarly achievements'.
3. 'teaching abilities' or 'ability to teach' would be better than 'teaching capacities'.
4. The logical connection between the two sentences is puzzling, but perhaps it is made clear by the larger context.

A further point: 'to be valued for something' means to be appreciated for something or to be considered valuable because of something. If the intended meaning is that academic personnel are assessed or evaluated on the basis if the two factors, 'valued for' is the wrong wording.

oops: ; on the basis *of* the two factors

: It's your second point in particular that I find important - the word used means something different (whereas capacity/ability etc is not quite so misleading - just not perfect)

: 'The scholarship of teaching' is a common topic with regard to university level professors, referring to their contributions through research and methodology. / Apologies, K; ref to 'quality of instruction'.

but I didn't say instructors...

: "the teaching quality" sounds like it could be an article used in another language, like Spanish, Italian, etc. that is not used in English without prior refernce.

: 'the teaching quality' is a widely used term here in Australia, as is the quality of the teaching material. Teaching quality refers to the teachers methods, quality of teachers refers to the person.I thought the origional is good with just changing into.

My suggestion
I would prefer "naturally" to "of course", and use "quality of teaching" instead of the teaching quality.

A note about 'scholarship' in teaching and learning
Because the word 'scholarship' is so often associated with grants or honorary funds for academic achievement, I wanted to interject that at university level, the 'scholarship of teaching' has become a popular topic for discussion and is widely studied and talked about.
"Thinking about teaching begins where all intellectual inquiry begins, with questions about what is going on and how to explain, support, and replicate answers that satisfy us. The scholarship of teaching means that we invest in our teaching the intellectual powers we practice in our research."
"SoTL (scholarship of teaching and learning), is a key way to improve teaching effectiveness, student learning outcomes, and the continuous transformation of academic cultures and communities. Through research questions and methodologies applied to teaching and learning, the making public of that research and its results so that it can be analyzed and critiqued, and through the constructing of an available, growing body of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom about the teaching and learning processes and outcomes, college and university teaching is seen as a serious intellectual activity that can be evidence and outcome based."

: Thanks, and this may be useful for the asker, but I have the impression that in the asker's context 'scholarship' refers to academic activities such as research and publication as opposed to teaching. Maybe 'publish or perish' is a novel concept there?

Discussion
When I saw Kens answer, well it wasn't an answer but a journey into the never never of something that was far beyond what was required. An attempt at an education in nouns and pronouns, an over the top use of superlative words, when all that was required was a simple solution. But then to say a longer text was required.??
So I just posted a response, hoping not to blow it out of proportion, but it seams to have gotten under Ken's skin, hence his complaint to you.
So I will probably be chastised and berated over posting an "into" suggestion to replace an "in" ..So be it.........
Levan did say.. express your notion (if any)
Not an answer just a response as it says I can. I had a look at both answers and I didn't really agree with either so I posted a response rather than disagree, which would have negated a positive if here was one.
