Change log

Sep 12, 2008 09:05: Monika Jakacka Márquez changed "Level" from "PRO" to "Non-PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (2): Robert Copeland, Lydia De Jorge

Non-PRO (1): Tomás Cano Binder, BA, CT

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Good luck Berta! There are great translators out there who will be very happy to give you a hand. :-)

Dear Tomás Cano,

Thank you very much for your advice. I will try.

Best regards,
Berta Yu
Hi Berta. Actually you can use Proz's Directories > Freelancers to find one or several Spanish translators who can help you with your needs. I sincerely think that requesting translations here as terminology doubts is not correct... Cheers!
Berta Yu (asker) Sep 12, 2008:
I do have this idea. But how can I realize it? By the way, I may have many fields of translations to do.

If it's feasible, I will try as you recommended.

Thanks and regards,
Berta Yu
Thank you Berta for the description of the situation. I wonder, wouldn't it make more sense for you to hire any of us here to translate these terms for a fee? That way you would have the guarantee of a professional translation. Thanks!
Berta Yu (asker) Sep 12, 2008:
Sorry I am sorry that I've bothered you so much, because it is my first time to translate such kind of product, and some expressions sound odd to me (I am not English or Spanish native speaker). Some terms are easy to understand by apparently, but for me its real meaning may be somehow difficult to understand.

I am so sorry for the trouble I've caused to you all.

All the terms you ask about appear in any dictionary. In what way do you need clarification? Or are you simply hoping for a free translation?

Given the almost non-existing infomation, I'm taking the literary approach and chose the lowest level of confidence.

In a recent discussion, many members expressed that the absolute lack of context (like in this case) is the Kudoz-equivalent of 'the finger'. So you need to provide more context, any context.
Note from asker:
I am sorry that the only context is as follows: Firenze Three Tiered Fountain Assembly Instruction Carefully place the medium bowl (G) with pump house onto the center of the large bowl (C) over the stand pipe and the pump. Carefully place the small bowl (I) onto the pedestal (H) so that the vinyl tubing extends through the medium bowl (G) into the pumphouse. Carefully place the small bowl (I) onto the pedestal (H), and then place the pedestal (H) onto the midim bowl (G). Slip the free end of the vinyl tube (D) over the outlet of the pump (B). Make sure the tubing is not kinded as this will impede the water flow. You may cut the vinyl tubing to size if necessary. Plug the pump into a GFCI protected outlet. Adjust the water flow as necessary using the adjustment control on the pump. If necessary, use shims under the pumphouse and the pedestal (H) to level the upper bowls and achieve optimum water flow.
