cross ticketing
Cross ticketing is where a passenger buys APEX tickets for two return journeys in opposite directions, but only uses the outward portion of each. This overcomes the Saturday night stay restrictions and works out much cheaper than a normal mid-week return.
"Kreuzbuchung, Kreuzflug" is an entry in the Lexikon der Luftfahrt (p. 139) and for the definition you are directed to the term "APEX" (p. 18). Here is an extract: "... Überkreuzbuchung (auch Kreuzbuchung genannt), bei dem ein Rückflugticket vom Abflugort mit einem Rückflugticket vom Ankunftsort derart miteinander kombiniert werden ...)
http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=Gc4YYSMrIUkC&pg=PA139&vq=...
Here is an English explanation, where back-to-back ticketing is also given as an alternative term.:

I agree with the others that charter(ed) flights makes perfect sense here, but, like Craig, I cannot find one single instance of the German term used with that meaning.

Comment: "Well, I agree that although charter flights made sense in the context, there was nothing to say that's what a Kreuzflug was. I had never heard of this kind of ticketing, you learn something new every day!"

chartered flights
Hello there. I would definately NOT use the word cruise flight, because it seems here that it has nothing to do with cruises at all, rather cheap airline tickets. Cheap tickets, discounted tickets, etc... Sometimes chartered flights are actually cheaper than flights on normal airlines depending upon the route....in this context it might make sense. Good luck!

I am American (English native speaker). I have no idea why it says that I am not a native speaker....

: The English makes sense, but can you show me one single link where this German word is used with your meaning? I can't find one in the first 50 Google hits.

: Agree with Craig. Plus: IMO, if this were about chartered flights, the German would be "Charterflüge".

Sounds cheezy, but see both German and English links below...

tours, world trips
I think Kreuzflug is the same as a cruise, except it is by plane.
Not sure if there is one word in English but tours and world trips would cover it.
