: A soft currency is not negotiable outside the issuing country. All OECD and many other currencies are hard. As for hard debt, I don't know it. Maybe I was thinking specifically of the soft notes I have in my wallet (Seychelles), and of the Sudan pound.

Hi Jim, soft currencies are not mentioned here :-) Anyhow, wikipedia (and other sources) give a somewhat broader definition of "soft currency": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soft_currency and http://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/softcurrency.asp.

: hard nel senso che ha un ampio mercato. Il dollaro USA sicuramente è diventato deboluccio ma ha senza dubbio un mercato più ampio del renminbi.
