German term

commiten

German to English Bus/Financial Computers: Software Software instructions
The sentence reads as follows:

Änderungen speichern und Änderungen commiten.

Is this a Germanicized version of "commit"?

Has anyone come across this term before? I would appreciate your input!

Use the complete URL/link that contains a password to access this question. You should have received it in each of the answer notification emails. You should then see a clickable grading link in each of the answers.

Problem grading I am having trouble finding where I can input the grade on the screen. Can someone show me where to "click"? Thanks.

Yes, it is - "Denglish" rearing its ugly head (-:

Proper German would have been "Änderungen speichern und übernehmen".

I found "committen" often in the meaning of "to carry out"

übergeben, übertragen, einbuchen

Yes, this is a typical example of an anglicism in German programmers' speech.
I recommend not to use "commit(t)en" it as a verb in German, whereas it is o.k. to use the noun "Commit" as a foreign word.
Example sentence:

Änderungen an ein Repository übergeben/übertragen,

Änderungen in eine Datenbank übertragen, Änderungen einbuchen
