French term

au plein de

French to English Bus/Financial Finance (general)
Bonsoir,

Je ne pige pas le sens du terme ci-dessus dans la phrase suivante d'un document concernant les créances admises et non admises, etc., d'une société et les jugements des arbitres.

"Conformément à l’avenant n°X des Y et Z janvier 2007 du traité ABCDE, la couverture accordée par YYYYYYY «est limitée au plein de la Cédante fixé à XX.000.000 F [X.YYY.JJJ,LL €] » (article W).

Merci par avance pour toute assistance.

Hello,

It seems that that "limité au plein de" means "is completely limited to."

au plein = completely/fully

I hope this helps.

(bad editing?)

The most-common word that comes after 'au plein' is 'gré' --> 'au plein gré de X' meaning (+/-) 'to X's full satisfaction'.

I'm thinking that 'perhaps' the source text has been badly edited, and that 'perhaps' it should read:

la couverture accordée par YYYYYYY «est limitée au plein GRÉ de la Cédante (delete 'fixé') à XX.000.000 F

If that's the case, I'm sure you can work out the English translation without my help!

I agree that is possible Mediamatrix.
