Cacao pod borer

Low CL, as a "Wanze" is not usually the larva of a moth, but it might be - I can't find any googles for the actual term you give, so it's a possibility.

Here's an extract from a site with the above term (see about line 12):

"....At the same time, cacao farmers are suffering increasing losses due to pests and diseases, especially Phytophthora palmivora Butler (Black Pod Disease) and the Cacao Pod Borer Conopomorpha cramerella Snellen, a moth - both are difficult to control using chemical methods. agree Colin Rowe : Sounds like "cocoa shield bug" (Bathycoelia thalassina) could be the chap we are looking for, but caution with "green shield bug" as this can also refer to the "Palomena prasina" which is common in Britain and has nothing to do with cocoa.
