English term

drugstore

English Marketing Medical (general)
Dear fellow translators,
I am translating a marketing document from English to Indonesian where it contains the term 'drugstore.'
I translated it 'toko obat' (pharmacy, a shop where medicines/drugs are sold).
However, the PM said that it is not the intended meaning of 'drugstore.' She said that it is 'a shop where small goods are sold.'
It seems to me that the term may refer to 'something not related to a shop selling drugs.
So, what is the other synonyms of drugstore in this context?
Thank you very much for your help.
Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): writeaway

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Additional clues: This document has something to do with mobile phones and their top-up cards.
Rachel Fell Feb 25, 2008:
Agree with Jonathan - I'd say drugstore isn't a usual term in UK English
Hipyan Nopri (asker) Feb 25, 2008:
Here is the sentence: XXX top-up cards are available in select outlets including drugstores, phone stores, post offices, . . .
Jonathan MacKerron Feb 25, 2008:
can you please provide the entire sentence in English?
Jonathan MacKerron Feb 25, 2008:
sounds like the definition of "drugstore" in French, i.e. not specifically a pharmacy

Community pharmacy

19th century Italian pharmacy
Modern pharmacy in NorwayA pharmacy (commonly the chemist in Australia, New Zealand and the UK; or drugstore in North America; retail pharmacy in industry terminology; or Apothecary, historically) is the place where most pharmacists practice the profession of pharmacy. It is the community pharmacy where the dichotomy of the profession exists—health professionals who are also retailers.
