Spanish term
que la entidad financiera acredite los mecanismos
Spanish to English
Bus/Financial
Finance (general)
What is the best way to render this phrase in English? It's taken from a letter from a government agency replying to a request by a foreign company to do business in Colombia. Full sentence: "Se requiere que la entidad financiera del exterior acredite los mecanismos que pretende implementar en Colombia diferencien con claridad los servicios ofrecidos ...". Thanks for your help.

the foreign financial institution must [see below entire phrase]
Se requiere que la entidad financiera del exterior acredite los mecanismos que pretende implementar en Colombia diferencien con claridad los servicios ofrecidos ..."
"The foreign financial institution must substantiate/demonstrate/show that the procedures it intends to implement in Colombia clearly identify the services to be provided."
There is apparently a missing "que" in the source text, to be inserted after "acrediten". To my mind, "diferencien" in this case refers to clearly state what are the services they plan to provide. This is my take and how I would go about it.

to guarantee that the specific services/mechanism... differ from those offered in Colombia.
Mal redactado en el original, por lo cual el significado no queda claro.

Hi,
I think the sentence is ill-formed in Spanish, there is something missing... However, I think this is one possible translation:
"The foreign financial institution is required to define the initatives it intends to carry out in Colombia and to explain clearly the services it provides".
I see there is already another option, I agree with Mónica, the meaning is not clear. According to her, only the services that are different from the ones already existing in Colombia should be defined; I guess it means that all services must be defined, but it is a matter of interpretation
good luck!
