I was translating a children's movie script, and I cam across these very authentic Korean words that I found very hard to translate into English. The movie is for children, and it is filled with these sounds of crying, something blowing up, or monsters making screaming sounds. How would these words be translated as?

Sob, sob, waaah, boo-hoo, caw/rarrr, kaboom/bazoom

or, um, something like that... :-) Actually I'm afraid (a lot) more context is needed to give a plausible answer. BTW, is 까아악 really used for the sound of something blowing up? In my experience it's mostly used for the calls of crows and magpies.

agree festinalente : Is it possible '까아악' is a typo of '꺄아악'? If so, that is the sound of a human screaming. In that case, just go with 'Ahhhhhhh!!!!.' Anyways, very interesting topic. You might want to google 'onomatopoeia' or 'sound words.'
