German term

coloretteartig

German to English Medical Medical (general)
Es fanden sich palmoplantar sowie insbesondere and den Hand- und Fußkanten flächige unscharf begrenzte Erytheme mit lamellöser und *coloretteartig* randständiger Schuppung.

All I could find in google is a brand name/color for linoleum. Should this be interpreted as leathery or reddish scales?

casper (X) Dec 22, 2007:
@analisa: Thank you for your note. The correct German term is "colleretteartig" and the English translation is "collarette-like". When making the glossary entry, it is not necessary to refer to the typo.
casper (X) Dec 22, 2007:
Also, the corresponding English translation would be "collarette-like"
casper (X) Dec 22, 2007:
@analisa: Could you edit the glossary entry for the correct spelling of the source German term, please? As pointed out by Cetacea, it is "colleretteartig". Thank you

I stand corrected, thanks to Cetacea's input:
"coloretteartig" is a typo for "colleretteartig" (=coll*a*rette-like)
Note from asker:
Chetan, are you sure about editing the entry? Coll'e'rette? There is only one hit for it, while collarette (scales) gets 3,110 google hits.
Peer comment(s):

agree Cetacea : It is a typo, but for "colleretteartig", which is indeed "coll*a*rette-like" in English.//In that case, I'll have to agree with you... ;-)

German term (edited): colleretteartig

collorette-like

It is a way to describe lesions (circular lesions, collar-like), and scaling (collorette-like scaling) siehe auch:

Exfoliativ - Groß, lamellenartig - Bsp.: Schuppung nach Scharlach
Colleretteartig - Halskrausenartig um einen Herd - Bsp.: Psoriasis rosea
