German term

Vermietungsumsatz

German to English Bus/Financial Real Estate
"Vermietungsumsatz 2006 in 310.000 m2"

Warum ist der Umsatz in Quadratmeter angegeben? Gefunden habe ich "rental space turnover" aber das wäre in euros angegeben, oder? Bin für alle Infos sehr dankbar!

amount of space let (GB) / leased (US) (in a given period)

This refers to the performance achieved by e.g. a letting/leasing agent or by a company trying to let space in a property.
The distinction from Sander's suggestion is that this is expressed on a by-period basis (e.g. annually or quarterly) - hence the use of the word turnover - rather than as a static figure.
Example sentence:

ACME Realty leased 25,000 sq ft of office space in Anytown in 2007
