temporary/interim credentials
i checked for 'floating credential' and couldn't find anything in the literature. the closest that comes to the idea conveyed is 'temporary credential' with 'interim' a good second best.

"An even bigger hurdle will be getting credentials to cover government. Citizen journalists have been great assets during natural disasters and breaking news. They also have been granted temporary credentials for covering events like political conventions and even a congressional hearing. At least one enterprising blogger also covered his state's legislative session this year. " http://beltwayblogroll.nationaljournal.com/archives/2006/06/...

So, an alternative could be "freelance credentials" ...
I hope this helps ... :-)

roaming credential
Not in the sense of telecommunications; however, in tihe sense of being able to roam from one presentation to the other.
Look at the following:
[PDF]
1st Annual PKI Research Workshop---Proceedings
File Format: PDF/Adobe Acrobat
Conference’s Areas of Inquiry: Scalability of PKI; new approach to attribute certificates; and ...... roaming credential use, if that is necessary to the CM ...
www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~pki02/proceedings.pdf - Similar pages - Note this
"floating credential" is only found a total of 3 times on Google, and once in "quotation marks" since it sounded odd to those that used it.
To be fair, quite often roaming credential would be a credential to roam on cell phones; on the other hand, it can also mean to roam, such as in a conference, from one site or workshop to another.
Mike :)
