Una parte importante de las ventas de una marca mitica son de productos emblematicos. Un producto emblematico es atemporal. Lo atemporal no es necneario que *pase a saldo*. En consecuencia *los saldos* de una marca mitica deben reducir los costes de fabricacion.

I can only speculate on this. If saldo is used in the following sense...

Saldo 3. m. Resto de mercancías que el fabricante o el comerciante venden a bajo precio para despacharlas pronto.

...then what the text might mean is that the only reason for cutting the price of these items is to make way for shop space and enable greater demand for the product.

If you manufacture in greater numbers, then that ought to reduce your production costs.

It's the only logic I can find, but I'm afraid I can't really back it up. Maybe your context can?
