Spanish term

lámina

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Automotive / Cars & Trucks failure analysis report
In a failure analysis report of a flexible coupling I can't find the exact technical term for "lámina." It's a component of the flexible coupling on a brake disc, more specifically for the flange shaft and flange disc. I have photos if you can identify this flat element shaped like a rachet. In this context, I'm leaning toward "plate" but I know there must be a established technical term in English.

Henry Hinds Jul 15, 2007:
"Lámina" is generically sheet metal, however what you describe does not fit that. I do know there is a ratchet device in self-adjusting brakes. If you could find a link to a photo it would help.

Note from asker:
I used "plate" instead of "flex plate" because the photos of the component were rigid metal. Thanks for your expertise!
