This is an interesting challenge... The context is a marketing text for Norwegian dairy products. Sentence: "Geita er odelsjenta i norsk landbruk, og det eldste husdyret ved siden av hunden."
The term is of course used here metophorically, but I'm not sure how to transfer the meaning into English. Another challenge is that this refers to the female of the species because the text is about dairy products, so this has to be reflected in the translation. "Princess of Norwegian farming" (hmmmm...) But something along those lines, perhaps?
