Handelt es sich bei den Gegenständen beispielsweise um gefaltete Druckereiprodukte, deren Falz vorlaufend und Blume nachlaufend ist, ist es auch denkbar, dass das Einstechelement blumenseitig in das Druckereiprodukt einsticht.
Can "Blume" be simply translated by "fleur"? Fleur seems to be used for skins or pieces of parchment to distinguish one side from the other.

"glacé" in french or "glossy" or "gloss" in english would seem to fit the printing context here for "Blume", particularly bearing in mind the use of "blumenseitig" or "glossy side" in the same passage.
