Discussion

Marion Lurf May 12, 2007:
@ Enkay: Why? "Archaisch" = to be archaic, "archaisierend" = to make archaic. That said, I'm afraid I cannot help with the translation either.
Nadine Kahn May 10, 2007:
I think it should read "in den archaischen Akkorden...", therefore "archaic". Isn't it adjective in this case?
casper (X) May 10, 2007:
It would be a good idea to post the asked term in the nominative case ["archaisierend"]

antiquating

http://www.bozzle.com/id_Antiquating.html

Antiquating is a set of techniques to imitate the effects of aging on plaster, wood, metal, paint, plastic, in fact any material that is used in decorating. This is more often used for television and film painting. Scenic backgrounds and all types of furniture and fittings are aged to order.

archaic/archaizing

My Duden offers:

ar|cha|i|sie|ren <sw. V.; hat> [griech. archaïzein]: archaische Sprach- od. Kunstformen verwenden: eine Kunstepoche, in der man gern archaisierte; <meist im 1. Part.:> eine archaisierende (altertümelnde) Sprache

My Merriam Webster offers roughly the same definition for archaizing, but maybe archaic would suffice
