Vapour Pressure Osmometer
"Das Auftropfen der Lösung bzw. des Lösungsmittels mithilfe von Spritzen kann visuell über einen Spiegel (4), der ebenfalls an der Frontseite angebracht ist beobachtet werden."
From the description of a vapor pressure osmometer's cell unit. I think I know what "Auftropfen" is describing, but just can't think of the English word and the dictionaries are not helping. TIA for your assistance.

Comment: "This certainly had a great many hits in the right sort of context, so must indeed be the translation. Thanks Emma and the peer graders - appreciate everyone's help."
Discussion
Dropwise addition point??? (Maybe I should ask this separately, but it is very closely related to Auftropfen on its own.)
Dropwise addition certainly seems to be the way to go for Auftropfen though - oer 20,000 hits for it, and lots of good ones in the right context!
