Hi everybody.
Usually, medical reports in Spanish begin with the phrase “se trata de paciente masculino/femenino” (literally, “(this medical report) refers to a male/female patient”.
Which would be best way to render this introductory phrase into English?

The patient is a woman/man (or girl/boy). It sounds more human than male/female and less like a police statement :-)
