English Science History Indian maths

Transcribing the programme 'INDIAN MATHS' I have encountered hard to understand section, I’ve marked it by putting the unintelligible section in the double parentheses (()). I guess that the pronounced phrase was ((has just been to say)). Do you hear the same?

Here goes the transcribed passage:

MELVYN BRAGG: “Well that’s very clear, thank you very much … um … Colva, the Jesuits were very influential. George 32:40 ((has just been to say)) with George 32:41 (()) George, the Jesuits were very {laugh} it’s very 32:46 (()) I actually would mean, but it would be nice to see not only 32:48 (()){laugh} … it wasn’t a big bite. The Jesuits -- the Jesuits were influential in -- in -- in -- in spreading Indian numbers and in spreading Indian maths, weren’t they”?
