Transcribing the programme 'INDIAN MATHS' I have encountered hard to understand section, I’ve marked it by putting the unintelligible section in the double parentheses (()). I guess that the pronounced words were ((there is)). Do you hear the same?
MELVYN BRAGG: Can you drop one second, because it – it so -- it fascinating – 09:40 ((there is)) -- just to tell the listeners. So the idea of numbers is very intricately bound up with the religious texts with the notions of religion. We are talking about religious -- that them feeding off each other very closely, right.
09:40 is a timestamp. After downloading the programme, open RealPlayer, then press CRL-E and put 00:09:40. In that way you will get straight to the incomprehensible section.
In fact, the whole first sentence is difficult to understand for me, and I am not sure if I have transcribed it well.
Thanks in advance. Darek

this is a tough one ...
I'm hearing something like: "Can I interrupt you for one second, 'cause it -- it's so -- it's fascinating, so just to, to tell our listeners.... So, the idea ..."

Comment: "I think it is as near as possible to the original words."

it so...
I think I hear him "stammering" with eagerness to say what he wants to say!
"it's so interesting... just to tell the listeners" would be my guess!
