Norwegian term
ukrevet
Norwegian to English
Law/Patents
Law (general)
Context: Gjeldsbevis (acknowledgement of debt).
Sentence: "Gjelden betales ukrevet og uten løpedager innen xx.xx.xx."
This obviously means that the debt is to be paid without the creditor having to file legal action/claim, but what is the correct corresponding term in English? So far I've only come up with "unsolicited" but not sure this works here.

without demand
Not sure about this, but found a surprising number of hits for it, but mostly for rent debts. Take a look at my search link, and see if it helps.
Note from asker:
You're on the right track here, Bill. I continued from your link and came up with "without resorting to judicial process/legal action", which I think is what is meant here. Will wait and see. |
