Could you please explain me what "Aliens policing status" mean?

As far as I know, the problem in Hungary was that many persons originally from Hungary (or claiming Hungarian origin) wanted to go back to Hungary because that country entered in the European Community.

agree Roddy Stegemann : But, the idea is correct -- the status of the individual as determined by immigration of the host country. I would render it in English as "Immigration Control Status".
