English term

cross-cum-shot

FVA Not for points English to Russian Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation Soccer
This is a question to European football buffs. I could not find this term in any on-line dictionary or glossary that I am aware of, neither could I garner any self-explanatory context. The broad context is: "Michael Hart powered into the Inverness box after Miller flicked the ball on, but his cross-cum-shot from a difficult angle landed on the roof of the net."

То есть, в данном случае это "cross-come shot", cum тут от come.

Note from asker:
Thanks a lot, buddy. That's what I thought but had some scruples as to the correctness of my understanding the term. Anyway that's definitely a kind of shot (aimed or haphazard) that is kicked across the box when the shooter hopes that the ball may be deflected from one of the defenders to the goal or else conveyed yonder some other way.

agree Sergei Vasin : "удар в дальний угол", вот нашел: "Hagi’s cross-cum-shot that sailed over the keeper’s head into the net from 35 yards ... was the goal of the tournament.", я этот гол помню, там именно шел навесом, в дальний угол, ну и очень красиво было.

попытка навеса которая превратилась в удар по воротам

The player attempted a cross but the ball was going in the net which made it a shot. "cum" here means "полу".
Note from asker:
Thank you for the explanation, appreciate it. Though it seems unlikely that "cum" here relates to the Russian "полу". Never seen this Latin prefix used in this sense. Besides, there is no indication in the term whether this shot is low or high, which implication is definitely present in "навес". To my mind, the main idea here is that the shot is just swung across the box (which intrinsically means that this shot being a neat curve it may end up being an attempt on the goal even unassisted).
