Ulcer problem

Hola gente :-)
¿a qué refiere "Ulcer problem" en este caso? Está en un programa de matemáticas estadísticas y dice:
"Chapter 3 is to be used to set up Chapter 5 on using the Normal Distribution for statistical inference. Consequently, in Chapter 3 deemphasize the material on quartiles and the 5 number summary, and omit the material on box and whisker plots. Be sure to use the material in Appendix 1 (on the Ulcer problem) and in Appendix 2 (on Election fraud) in chapter 5."
No entiendo a qué refiere acá. Muchas gracias anticipadamente por ayudas.
Saludos cordiales

same entity as "electoral fraud"
I guess that Appendix 1 and Appendix 2 show different practical examples of given situations.
One of them is an Electoral fraud with all its statistical calculations, etc.
The other may be, for instance, medical statistics dealing with ulcer problems on a given population of patients.

So you might put quietly: "problemas de úlcera" and "fraude electoral" for the Appendixes.
