English term

grouthray

English Science Medical (general)
I need help if you know anything about, or heard about this term. It is, according to a source, related to a type of ray which is equivalent to that of the sun, and it helps (so alleged) our growth.
Please keep in mind this is not typo for "growth", but appears (from the context) to be related to the solar energy, thus growth energy.

Discussion

How strange! The second link worked a minute ago, and now it doesn't...
Peter Shortall Oct 10, 2006:
Suzan's links work fine for me, and I agree with Angela.
humbird (asker) Oct 10, 2006:
Thank yo Angela, yea I visited that Japanese site (the subject involves translation into English). Therefore not much help. Also thank you Nesrin, but this is nothing to do with Sci Fi. This stuff is real. Too bad Suzan's links don't work. Like to solicit more help.
Angela Dickson (X) Oct 10, 2006:
this *must* be a typo for 'growth', surely - the Google results for your term only show 4 hits, all of which are Japanese. Searching for "grouth ray" reveals 3 hits, all of which are misspellings from the same Malaysian hotel.

Try googling it as two words: "grouth ray."

Found this on Google; link doesn't work, but the description below may be useful.

Tried the link again after reading Peter's note, and it worked: I've copied and pasted in the information given (for what it's worth):

http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6004588.html
Document Type and Number: United States Patent 6004588 Link to this Page: http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6004588.html Abstract: Provided are a far-infrared radiation material and a medicine and a food derived therefrom. The far-infrared radiation material is obtained by steps comprising pulverizing a stone (SGES) having been absorbing solar energy for a geologically long time, emitting far-infrared radiation of the wavelength 4-14 .mu.m and comprising at least about 28% of Si, about 10% of Al, about 6% of K and about 4% of Fe, and forming the pulverized stone into spheres. This material can be used as sand for a sand bath. Also ultrafine powder obtained by pulverizing the SGES and grinding the pulverized SGES can be used as a medicine or a food.

Googling using "SGES" and "far-infrared" yields a few more links.

agree Will Matter : Yup, it's a typo for sure. Hoe gaat 't?

Thanks, Will (no matter puns). Wish I could change the spelling of my original answer, but then it would be the same as Nesrin's.
agree William [Bill] Gray : SGES (Super Grouth Ray Emmitting Stones) : your two links worked for me! I followed to several spas & resorts which offer treatments, based on what may be considered stored energy of the sun released through the pulverisaiton of said rocks!

Thanks, Bill. Yes, had I more time I probably would have followed the links further. The second link worked on a second try.
agree Michael Barnett : Don't hold your breath for the placebo controlled, double blind, prospective clinical trials.

Thanks, Michael. No breath holding here.

growth ray

Has it got anything to do with Superman?

Historically, famine apparently had afflicted certain areas of Krypton, but an amazing growth ray for plants, invented by Superman's father and capable of growing vegetables 100 times bigger than their normal size, promised to end the problem of hunger forever within a very short time.

Ok, purely scientific this time, not sci-fi:

A set of sufficient conditions for the existence of multiple equilibrium growth rays is provided and their determinacy properties are then characterised.
