German term
allgemein zu empfehlen ist es sicherlich nicht
German to English
Art/Literary
General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
expression
The context is more or less like this: whatever you may be thinking about XXX, allgemein zu empfehlen ist es sicherlich nicht...
It seems simple but I just can't wrap my mind around it (I don't fully understand what it means).
Thank you!

correct - it certainly isn't recommended in general
I agree with your formulation. Sounds copacetic.

The "allgemein" is sort of separate - as I read it. Reworded it is: allgemein / es ist sicherlich nicht zu empfehlen, though in English it would be stylistically better to place the "allgemein" (in general) at the end.

Hi Henry - didn't know you did German as well. Could you please explain to me what "copacetic" mean? :) |
