Well, Hamo, I don't see much failure at ProZ.com. It is running well. Besides, I don't see any reason why you should not be allowed to promote business by means of ProZ.com. One of the reasons why we are here is to put each of us in the right light.

Wenjer Leuschel The success and failure of a good forum depends largely on the forum's monitor. Not only do the monitors of ProZ.com forums vary in quality, but individual enforcement of ProZ.com forum guidelines by these monitors is hardly uniform and sometimes very personal. The use of ad hominem attacks is hardly the only restriction.

Hi there, Will, I don't think it against the rules at ProZ.com to promote oneself by asking questions or posting in the fora. ProZ.com is quite liberal. So long one doesn't run into personal attacks, nor problem would come up. Wink! Wink!

Will Wong Understanding language is an integral part of translation and one's understanding of a language is never complete. In fact, one often learns language through translation. As far as advertising the Tsong Kit website in the Chinese-English forum is concerned, I also adverstise the Chinese-English forum on the Tsong Kit website. Thus, any commercial advantage to be obtained is mutual.

This, by the way, is not the appropriate venue for this type of discussion, and if you would like to open a forum under the Community menu, I would be happy to join it. Should you decide to do so, please notify me in a private email, however, as I almost never go there anymore.
