Laser - Gas mix
1.2. GAS MIXER ASSEMBLY
The proportioning of the gases for producing the Laser’s active medium depends upon the setting of the regulators on the gas mixer, which is located behind the vacuum pump. The regulators located at the gas bottle supplying gas to the Laser (and the gas mixer) should be set to 80 PSI. The gas mix is factory set. The user does have the ability to check the gas ratio using the CP Panel software. For further information on the gas calibration check, please refer to the help files on the CP Panel Software.
1.2.1. LASING GASES
The CP Series Laser uses 3 gases as the active medium inside the resonator......
What on earth does CP panel software mean?? The client said that CP=constant potential.... och well, that makes it all clear:=)
I think CP is just a brand name, but then it should be CP software panel. I don't know..... (sensible) suggestions are welcome.
Cheers

No, I think it is not a brand name, but probably it designates a model or series.
Cp is used for Constant pressure
see: http://pdf.aiaa.org/jaPreview/AIAAJ/1972/PVJAPRE50113.pdf
For other possible CP abbreviations, refer to (and be prepared for a surprise!!):
http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/CP
I suspect there is a computerised control on this equipment, with an access panel, and here called the CP panel after the model/series (controls interface; programmable logic controller?). On this panel you may regulate pressure, flow, mixture, and so on...
I'm guessing a bit here, but here's another link which may shed some light:

Dave Calderhead
: Surely the simplest answer might be Control Panel [programmable because it is stuffed full of embedded computer systems and/or chips, of course and linked to a central control computer]

Thanks, Dave! Simple is always best!

PPC 5006 CP control panel software
I found the PPC 5006 CP control panel advertised as an intelligent controller for industrial equipment.

I think you are right, what we are talking about is a computer screen connected to a computer where there is a little program that allows the operato to select his gas pressures and stuff.
Also when I said CP=brand name, I meant model name. You are quite right on this.
I think I'll go back to the agency and ask them to ask the client to clarify what they mean.....
