Dutch term

uitserveren

Dutch to English Bus/Financial IT (Information Technology)
in a sentence such as: "De complete pagina waarop het zoekformulier staat wordt uitgeserveerd."
How would you render this in English? Serviced out?
Thanks in advance.

Discussion

Wouter van Kampen Feb 6, 2006:
A servlet is a Java programma it is not a script!
Wouter van Kampen Feb 6, 2006:
Quite to the contrary what Saitch is claiming Java scripts are not served out. These scripts are part of a html page and work on the client machine The "on submit" is a Post method. Scripts that are served out are e.g. Server Side Includes.
David Van der Vloet (asker) Feb 5, 2006:
or maybe...published?

agree Dave Calderhead : or even disributed by server to client [applications]

'Serve out' would have to be regarded as jargon, but if it fits the context it's the right jargon. Otherwise you could say 'provided', 'issued', etc. (or 'distributed' if it goes to multiple clients)..
agree Stefan de Boeck (X) : serve out

Seems to me that the page is simply being 'presented' or more simply 'displayed'.

put on our server(s)

I have never ever heard of serve out as IT jargon.
They simply mean that they will publish the form by putting it on their server(s).

That's it and nothing else. I would just simply say publish (on the internet or the web) or display.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Stefan de Boeck (X) : javascript routines are 'served out' to make the form actually DO sth (onsubmit=search) and not just sit there.// yes.they're js routines.

What are you raving on about Java scripts? It is a form [zoekformulier] that might or might not contain Java script.Remember what the Post and Get methods are?
agree FionaDV (X) : better late than never (just stumbled upon this while googling terminology)
