. The most significant difference is that mathematical pieces for the enriched students are more difficult and demanding. Enriched students are pushed in the same manner as advanced students. The pace is faster than the regular class and the workload is heavier. The curriculum is the same as in the advanced class, however more time is given to the students to work, comprehend, and master the essential skills.

1. What is the difference between Gifted and Enriched?
The Gifted Program at WTCS is for students who have been identified as “gifted”, with approval from the TDSB.
The Enriched Program is for students who have not been identified as gifted, but who show strong academic achievement, solid work skills, and a keen motivation to learn. Admission into the Enriched Program is based on a “Teacher Recommendation Form” (available from the Gifted/Enriched Program Coordinator). It is also for students who may be gifted, but, due to a recent slowdown in testing, have not been formally identified.
We have mixed classes with both gifted and enriched students.
2. What are the main differences between the Gifted/Enriched courses and the regular Academic courses?
The courses for the program have been adapted so that they are appropriate to the needs of the gifted/enriched students. This does not necessarily mean a heavier workload. Curriculum material is generally presented at a quicker pace, and with more depth and breadth. The teacher attempts to allow for more time on personal enrichment activities and more varied and challenging learning opportunities.
It is important to note that Gifted/Enriched students are not evaluated at a higher level than other students (i.e. they are not penalized as far as marks go for being a part of the Program).
3. What courses do students in the Gifted/Enriched program take
