It's not a proprietary name - at least there is more than one company that makes the stuff.
It is 95% ethanol (which is as pure as you can theoretically make ethanol by distillation), and used to make limoncello and various other infusions which give you a disproportionate hangover. People make this stuff at home, and probably drink the pure stuff for all I know - "alcool buongusto" will be on sale at your local supermarket alongside the spirits.
