locomotive with remote control

Declined
I don't know what this is called in English, but there seem to be some locomotives where the engine driver can dismount from the engine and manoeuvre it by means of a "remote control" device - presumably it hangs round his neck like a "hawker's tray" (Bauchladen)

Maybe there's a railway enthusiast out there who knows what these things are actually called!

"Die Loks dienen dem Rangierverschub im Bahnhofsbereich Jenbach (ZB) und sollen auf Funkfernsteuerungstechnik umgebaut werden (d.h. der Lokführer betreibt die Lok mittels "Bauchladen"- Steuerung von außen)"

agree Mihaela Boteva : if this is meant then it can be simply 'remote control locomotives' - http://www.ble.org/pr/news/newsflash.asp?id=4156, http://www.fra.dot.gov/us/content/94

Comment: "Thanks for your help. This is a little ambiguous as remote control is used a lot on railways - also on board trains and at tracksides for approaching stations, crossings, etc. But thanks anyway."
