French term

zones contrôlées vs. zones surveillées

French to English Medical Medical (general) in a process document for a pharmaceutical plant
The differentiation between "zones contrôlées" and "zones surveillées" comes up again and again in this process document that describes the different clothing rules, etc. for each area. This a pharmaceutical plant that specializes in radioactive pharmaceuticals. Does anyone know the correct technical terms in English? The rules for the "zones surveillées" seem to be less strict than the rules for the "zones contrôlées".

(strictly) controlled zones vs. supervised or monitored zones

monitoring is on an ad hoc basis whereas controlled is constant supervision, IMO

agree yaotl : EXACTLY

disagree Kim Metzger : Your explanation makes no sense: you propose controlled vs. supervised zones and explain that controlled means the same thing as supervision. Monitoring is not normally associated with ad hoc.
