Spanish term

de origen, como el vino,

Spanish to English Marketing Food & Drink chocolate

I´m confused!

This is the sense, and "vintage chocolate" seems to be a common term in the candy industry.

Suerte.

explanation

The place where the dark/high caco chocolate originates/is grown and is harvested is now identified in a similar manner to wines in the sense that terroir is important for judging flavor and quality, aroma, physical properties, etc.

Purity and high cacao content are involved in this distinction. The highest quality is over 72% (pure bitter chocolate, no additivies)

... as wine it should have it's own D.O
Yo lo pondría así y luego aclararía como nota qué es el la D.O (Denominación de Orígen) de los vinos:

Denominación de Origen - Term used in Spain for certain food products with special characteristics and that are similar to each other. It also refers to the geographical area in which certain food products are produced

"de origen" for wine is another way of saying "denominación de origen"

appears in most dictionaries.

guarantee of origin and quality

I am certain that the context is referring to the selection of products, wine included based on the origin and quality. The guarantee of origin and quality (product quality guarantee) can be applied to a number of products such as wine and chocolate in the given context.

I hope that helps!

Peer comment(s):

agree Muriel Vasconcellos : You were better off when you started. "Origin" needs to be at the end, next to the wine. How about: "dark unsweetened chocolate with select designations of origin, like fine wines"?
