Japanese term

ハードのグレード感

Japanese to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
The whole sentence is:
内装、設備などの先行整備によりハードのグレード感を保つこと
As with the other phrase I posted earlier, I'm not sure what this ハード is. I'm also not sure what グレード感 is in this case. Perhaps it's talking about sophistication?

Discussion

casey (asker) Nov 1, 2005:
Thank you, khaamoo and Kurt. Those were both useful answers. I associate the term "hardware" with computers, and this is more along the lines of non-computerized equipment.

superior quality of physical attributes

ハード refers to things that you can physically see, touch, etc.
In this case, your sentence may be something along the lines of:

"The superior (high/excellent/upper-class) quality of the physical attributes of (whatever it is) will be maintained/preserved by the future/anticipated improvements to the interior and facilities/equipment, etc."
Note from asker:
The topic is establishing a medical facility in a new building. I don't think it is talking about hardware (which I associate with computers).
Peer comment(s):

disagree David Higbee-Teves : It´s impossible to know unless you know what is the topic/subject of the sentence. You made a good attempt, but any translation out of context is quite difficult. In this case ハード probably means "hardware"

hard = hardware

Japanese use this term for machne, equiment or something physical and you can touch with it.

And グレード感 is feeling of high-quality, feeling that something has high-quality characteristics. Does this make sence?

grade perception of hardware / hardware grade perception

Just another twist. I've heard the term "grade perception" thrown around in MBA case studies related the setting of multiple price points.
