Hi folks: please don't tell me it's mumps, big ears, trunnions or slang for a personal persuasion.
If anyone is inspired, it's part of a medieval castle.
The sentence is:
"la fortezza ha una pianta quadrata, con quattro poderosi bastioni angolari a schema lanceolato uniti alle cortine da originali doppi “orecchioni” che avevano la funzione di raddoppiare il numero delle bocche da fuoco, incrementando la potenza del fuoco di fiancheggiamento; è circondato da un fossato"
