French term
baroudeur
French to English

Hello. Has anyone come across this term? It's applied to a travel bag/backpack (sac de voyage baroudeur). It's a backpack with a lot of pockets and a "look baroudeur". I've thought of cargo, battledress, adventure, trekker. Apparently "baroudeur" is slang for a Legionnaire Etranger, but it is used in French fashion to designate a style that seems similar to cargo or battledress (multipockets, sort of military) but as French retailers use all three terms, I wonder if there's actually a difference.

A "baroudeur" in street speak is a term applied to backpacker style gear, army surplus type cothing, cargo pants etc.
