consumption of bacon and related products is boosting pork sales

The title is a pun, because 'crisp sales' means 'brisk sales', but crisp also means 'crunchy' and refers here to fried bacon (the subject of the article). In the US, crisps are also bits of pork skin fried in deep fat and sold as snack food.

An even more obvious pun would be 'sizzling sales', but that's a grossly overworked cliche.

agree Refugio : vigorous sales would be another way of putting it, and yes, it refers to the bacon, not to pork crisps

Fast sales are making pork products more popular

or there is higher demand because of the growing, fast-paced (crisp) sales

OK it is bacon but anyway my interpretation of the sentence still holds regardless of what the specific product is --at least it is still related to pork--there is definitely a pun intended with crisp and bacon--crisp is also a good synonym for brisk (which is ofen used in this type of article for sales reports)

play on words with "pork crisps"

crisp sales are heating up pork product => pork crisp sales are heating up pork product sales
