English term

collect

English Art/Literary Religion 19th century text
Never allow yourself to think that you can do too much,--that you can spend and be spent too much for Christ's cause. For one man that does too much I will show you a thousand who do not do enough. Rather think that "the night cometh, when no man can work" (John ix. 4), and give, collect, teach, visit, work, pray as if you were doing it for the last time.

Well, I just wanted the meaning.

meet up, assemble

This is an older meaning of the verb "collect". And "collect" as a noun also has the meaning of "assembly, especially a religious meeting" (see OED). I strongly suspect this is the intended meaning here.
An on-line concordance or similar may help verify this.

agree flipendo : Intransitive verb: gradually assemble (from Encarta). I think the meaning is very clear to understand

agree Bill Greendyk : I know which author Ana is translating, and in more than one of his works he uses "collect" in this sense.

collect the results of your labor

neutral flipendo : Beautiful as it may sound, the context does not allow for such a meaning of the word. And in the context of religion, what is it that you collect on earth? Well, nothing in this world, only in the hereafter you collect results of your labour.

col·lect2 (k¼l“¹kt, -µkt”) n. Ecclesiastical. A brief formal prayer that is used in various Western liturgies before the epistle and that varies with the day.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Tony M : It seems in Asker's list to be a verb in the imperative, and not a noun, as in a prayer.

collect money

I think that is why it is paired with "give" - go around collecting money to be used for the church's work. It's the same sense in which we say, for example "I'm going to collect for Oxfam".
Peer comment(s):

neutral flipendo : I don't think this is the meaning here. To understand this, "give" has also to be interpreted as "offer". The underlying meaning isn't so "materialistic", but rather doing things and even making sacrifices

This is a list of very practical things - work, teach, visit - and Paul's letters are full of instructions to give in the sense of giving food/money
