English to French Medical Medical (general) IRM/autogreffe de cartilage

Dans un texte sur l'imagerie par résonance magnétique et du processus de guérison du cartilage suite à une autogreffe, on dit que "There is progressive ***edge integration*** of the transplanted cartilage with the native cartilage....

Ce qui me cause problème, c'est "edge". Je l'avais laissé tomber dans un premier temps, me limitant à "l'intégration du cartilage greffé au cartilage naturel. Mais l'expression revient plus loin:

" Complete ****edge integration*** of the transplanted cartilage with the native cartilage may take up to 2 years. ****Edge integration*** is complete when no fluid signal is visualized any more between the native and transplanted cartilage and when both have the same signal intensity."

J'ai pensé à "bords", j'ai pensé à "lisérés" (très utilisé en imagerie), mais je n'arrive pas à trouver l'expression qui traduise "edge integration"...
