German term
(freie) Formbarkeit
German to English
Tech/Engineering
Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.)
From blurb for a poster for a competition focussing on innovative concrete design/applications. The poster features floating words superimposed on a honeycomb concrete image ...
"Die Typographie unterstreicht mit den vervielfältigten, übereinandergeschobenen Wörtern das Thema von Plastizität, **freier Formbarkeit** und Dreidimensionalität"
Elsewhere, it refers to e.g. uneingeschränkte Formbarkeit, formbare Transparenz (moulded?), freiformbares Material
(sorry, not sure about the category)

formability
Why not?
formability
The ability to be molded into different shapes.
http://simscience.org/cracks/glossary/formability.html
Formability is an important property, especially for strip steels that may be processed into cans, automotive panels, etc. Formability can be measured in several different ways and choosing the most appropriate parameter requires an understanding of what they mean.

or simply "flexibility"?

: don't see anything wrong with "formability" for concrete

Comment: "Thanks to everyone! I went with "formability" - but also used "mouldability" in the one case. The fact that Nesrin also suggested "flexibility" shows she was very much on the ball here..."

moldability
When you deal with concrete, it is "molded," rather then formed, let alone "morphed."

Mouldability is a very general term that relates to practically all \"plastic\" materials such as clay, plastics, ceramic mixtures, and the like. The term forming is mainly used for metals (metal formning). It wouldn\'t be wrong to use \"formability,\" but it seems to me that \"mouldability\" looks more familiar when you deal with plastic materials.

Lancashireman
: Ah, Grade 5! (Highest – I am sure). What about the ‘Typographie’ in the quote. Is that also ‘moldable’ (> mouldable) // Null problemo.
