Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (2): eileengreen, Luis Rey Ballesteros (Luiroi)

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Correction: This is the word used in dental schools and by dentists in their practices - according to my American dentist here in Israel.
eileengreen May 31, 2005:
If you want the proper word used by professionals in the United States and probably all over the world, then the word is IMPRESSION. This is the word used in dental schools or in their practice - according to my American dentist here in Israel.
eileengreen May 31, 2005:
My father was a dentist in Philadelphia. We had IMPRESSIONS (models of teeth) all over my house. He made impressions of my teeth to check my bite. The orthodontist made impressions. Just called my American dentist to check on correctness.

You bite into a dental impression tray. The dentist makes a model of your teeth. Orthodontists make impressions before they put braces on your teeth.

An impression can be described as a copy of your mouth

A dental impression is taken as a process for many dental procedures. A dental material is placed in an impression tray.

An \"impression\" or a copy of your mouth and teeth is made in a rubbery like dental material by the dentist or his staff. Into this impression plaster is placed to make an accurate copy or mold of your mouth.

Have you ever wondered where the term \"indentured servant\" came from? The story goes that when debtors were shipped from Europe to America to work as servants in colonial days, the indigent immigrants sealed their agreement by leaving their dental imprint in wax instead of signing a contract.
