Spanish to English Law/Patents Law (general) Artículo del Código Cívil
Hello,
I am translating a real estate contract from Spanish to English. Two articles are transcribed in there and I am having a huge problem in translating them into English. I would be glad if somebody could help me out with any of the articles, but especially the first one is really a problem for me. Many thanks to everybody!

Art. 1.279. Si la Ley exigiere el otorgamiento de escritura u otra forma especial para hacer efectivas las obligaciones propias de un contrato, los contratantes podrán compelerse recíprocamente a llenar aquella forma desde que hubiese intervenido el consentimiento y demás requisitos necesarios para su validez.
Art. 1.280. Deberán constar en documento público:
1º) Los actos y contratos que tengan por objeto la creación, transmisión, modificación o extinción de derechos reales sobre bienes inmuebles.

In reply to your question, I just translated it. I am not aware of any translation of the Spanish Civil Code anywhere. The problem with this sort of thing is that it may end up getting translated half a dozen times because there is no way of finding out that it has been done before.
Note from asker:
Did you use a source in the internet for that? I was seeking desperately an English translation of the articles, but I guess there is nothing like that...?
Peer comment(s):

agree AllegroTrans : Careful!! "Acts" in context in the doc. are "deeds" or "notarised documents" etc not Acts. Acts are laws (i.e. Statutes, Acts of Parliament)

"Actions" would probably be better. Nevertheless, "act" does not just mean "Act of Parliament" - it is also a synonym of "action" in the most general way possible.
Something went wrong...
