"Enrumbao" doesn't mean that the guy was stoned or high. It means that he was partying. (Caribbean Spanish.)
En el Caribe, mejor dicho, en los países de habla hispana del Caribe, se dice "salir de rumba" a lo que en Argentina sería "salir de parranda", "salir de joda", "ir de fiesta"; o en España, "ir de marcha". La Rumba no sólo es un ritmo tropical, sino también es sinónimo de fiesta, de "party"; en este último caso, con minúscula: rumba. "Salir de rumba", "ir de rumba".
Entonces, cuando se dice "enrumbao", quiere decir que el tipo está "enfiestado", está "de fiesta", "de jarana", "de jolgorio", "de parranda", etcétera. O sea, "está de rumba", de ahí el participio coloquial "enrumbao".
Y como en el Caribe latino la fiesta y el baile son casi la misma cosa, o se entienden como la misma cosa (no hay rumba sin baile), por lo general, un tipo enrumbao está bailando, bebiendo y disfrutando de todo lo que le ofrece la rumba. Por eso lo traduje como: "He enjoyed himself partying and dancing", para que se entendiera mejor; pero puedes perfectamente poner solo, "He enjoyed himself partying".
