uninterupted service (period)
It's possible that to study the particular occupational hazard one needs to look at workers who were in the same line of work for a certain period of time, so as to exclude those for whom other occupations or extended out of work periods could distort their data.

I believe чистый стаж here it's not a 'clean record' (or any equiv. for 'unblemished prof. reputation' :-)) - it's more about some steady work at one and the same place (or in the same industry / trade, etc. i.e. - as i see it - the occupational safety regulations the worker is supposed to follow are the same for a certain amount of time).

clean record
Presumably in this case, they knew about the hazard and how to avoid it. Possibly "in good standing"?

Probably Alexander is correct (just noticed a typo: uninterRupted)

unbroken service record
The way I've seen чистый стаж used in Russian, it's usually mentioned with a period of time (in years), so I suppose it's like "unbroken service". To make it work better in this sentence, if there's no period of time mentioned, I think it would have to be "unbroken service record".
