My perspective: it is highly advantageous to leave "stopień naukowy" untranslated. While converting it to "J. Kowalski, PharmD" is straightforward in this context, other cases—such as mgr A. Nowak—pose challenges. One cannot easily determine whether this translates to MA, MSc, MN, or another master's degree.
Likewise, we seldom encounter "John Doe, LLM" translated into Polish as "mgr prawa John Doe." I have adhered to this practice for many years without raising significant controversy. Furthermore, this method elegantly addresses the complexities involved in translating titles such as "dr hab." ;-)
